My "Querencia"
Meaning a place where YOU feel safe, a home, which doesn't necessarily have to be where you live, right!?! They say in bullfighting, bulls' will stake out a querencia- a part of the ring where he will gather his energies before another charge.
Let's talk about it
Ok, so if a bull, in the midst of a fight, can be smart, intuitive and strategic enough to know he needs to find that "home/safe place" in a ring. A freaking bull ring...to gather his energies.
We all definitely need that RECHARGE. If You are in this whole big crazy world and you don't have that safe place to gather your energies before another charge. You will find life pass you by and sometimes fall into a ... what's the word? Ummm I don't want to say depression. Aight we'll just say a funk or a fresher term we like to use is "Be in your feelings."
Somedays you wake up and you don't feel like dealing with not one soul.... Hell not even your own self sometimes. Aight maybe that's just me... Fellow Taureans- do you ever? Eva feel like that .. So yeah, "safe place/recharge" YEAH!
ISSA Must for me. Let me tell you some days you will need that spot, make it a option.

I have a few spots like this but today Im'ma (yes I said Im'ma-on purpose) talk about my first love, mi amor.
It's the LIBRARY for me, yup THE LA BIBLOTECA!
People look at me like I have 2 heads when I mention library. "You still go to the library?" That's their favorite question. Like yeah, I think I just said "I need to go to the library" lol.
Next, it's "What do you do there?" Then it's "What you can rent movies there?" ijs I've heard some crazy comments.
One thing about the library- IT IS FREE.99!!FREE! F-R-E-E! They don't charge you to rent books/movies/cds. Just take your ID and a bill. BAM. You have access to free resources. Baby! I love to leave with a bag full of books. Usually, I'm more likely to buy a genre or author that I know I am going to like rather than risk wasting money. But sometimes you sleep on new authors.. Let's just be real, I am very frugal so I rarely buy a book on a whim these days.
The library helps me explore different authors. Plus, Black Expressions, if you've ever heard of them. I used to burn a whole in my pocket and I never re-read those damn books. Or got a book shelf for that matter.
How it all started? All I can say is the love for reading/writing has been with me since DAY 1..
FACTS! I can remember being around 5 bugging family members to let me read to them. Or my aunt fussing because I wrote all over her sticky pads. And now she can't find her pen...Plus, my Papa wouldn't let us watch too much of anything outside of Louis Farrakhan on tv. Yup it was either Farrakhan, a western or listen to blues...HEY HEY THE BLUES IT ALRIGHT... Sorry! I had a flashback.
And don't even think about getting on the phone. Bhahaha! According to him..."We had a business phone" it wasn't to be talking to my lil friends whom according to Him I would see them at school tomorrow.
Funny story-I'm thinking back and I had to be in middle school.. I was on the phone and Papa picked up. He said "You can talk to them tomorrow at school this is a business phone" I thought he hung up so I said "Man, this ain't no damn business phone" && he said "WHAT YOU SAY?" If I tell y'all I got off that phone so fast. I just knew I was about to get it. LOL I almost peed my pants.. He let me make it that day tho (It's funny now but back then come on Papa)
So yeah ya girl was running to the library every chance I could get plus it worked out for me because I genuinely loved to read. I be feeling like a BO$$ when I walk through.. inhaling the pages... AHHHH! Fresh books. Ah SI! And BEST part about it is ... IT IS QUIET!!!
And imagine this other people are there. Go one day. It might change ya life or at minimum I promise you will learn something.
Speaking of that... wanna learn Spanish? They got that. The library offers a wide range of classes on everything from basic computer skills to resume writing. Go check 'em out.
Ever think Man I wish I knew my origin. or I wish I could afford to order so and so DNA kit......GIT to the library! They have free access to ancestry.com so you can research your origins without breaking the bank.
